fae

in our lore, the courts are considered more a cultural alliance than anything else. your character can be born into a court or of two courts but can always decide to switch courts in adulthood to one they feel fits them best. except for in the case of the dawn and twilight courts, there is no stigma to switching courts — though most fae do not change more than once except in extreme circumstance.

the fae also do not place any signifigance on the ideals of "good" or "evil", but believe and rely on balance. while humans or magic users might consider a court such as the winter court as "evil" because of their magical affinity, the fae themselves would not consider it that way. the closett thing the fae have to a "bad" court is the twilight court and that is only due to the court's wild abandon of the idea of "balance" that the other fae think so highly of.
